Shims
QQI’s (Quantitative Quality Indicators) are magnetic particle test pieces with artificial defects used to verify proper field direction and adequate field strength. QQI’s are a valuable tool to be used to establish testing criteria with Multi-Directional 2-D and 3-D type testers and to increase productivity by minimizing magnetizing shots.
QQI’s are both thin and flexible to conform to the geometry of the test piece. They must be held in intimate contact with the test piece by either tape or glue.
Standard QQI's
CX-230 QQI
Similar to KSC-230 or 625551 (519630)
Standard QQI, flaw depth of 30% Shim thickness, 0.002″ thick
CX-430 QQI
Similar to KSC-430 or 625553 (521048)
Standard QQI, flaw depth of 30% Shim thickness, 0.004″ thick
Miniature QQI's
Similar to CX-230, except miniature design for small areas on test part. The four circles may be cut apart for individual use.
CM-230 QQI
Variable Depth QQI's
3C2-234 QQI
Similar to KSC-2-234 or 625554 (519632)
Variable depth flaws of 20%, 30% and 40% of Shim thickness, 0.002″ thick
